Otterfest activities tonight, Saturday [UPDATED]
Published 7:53am Friday, August 10, 2012 Updated 1:13pm Friday, August 10, 2012Ottertail celebrates OtterFest for the 20th time tonight, starting with a demo derby followed by a street dance. The festival is a two day, end-of-summer event with activites for all ages, sponsored by the Ottertail Business Association.
The demo derby is an exciting start to the festival, beginning at 7 p.m. The street dance follows featuring “Confusion” at the Hoot N Holler.
Plan for a full day Saturday, beginning with a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. at the community center, a car show from 10-1:30 p.m. behind the water tower, a big parade at 11 a.m., turtle races at 12:30 p.m. in the park, bingo at 1 p.m., and the Runestone Rockets and Misfits of Magic show at 3 p.m. in the community center.
A bean bag tournament, horse and buggy rides, food and art vendors, and inflatable and carnival games will be available all day Saturday as well.
Dinner is served at 5 p.m. with a hog roast and corn feed. Following is Otter Idol, with finalists performing at 7 p.m. at the community center. First place wins $250, so it’s sure to be a good show. The night closes with live music beginning at 9:30 p.m. at the Otter Supper Club.
