What’s happening Aug. 10-12

This weekend will be highlighted by the PRCA Rodeo at the Red Horse Ranch Arena. Friday will feature the Wild Cow Ride, and Saturday is tough enough to wear pink night.

OtterFest will feature Otter Idol, a car show, live music, horse and buggy rides, a street dance and a hog roast.

Vergas will host a 5K run/walk, Kids Fishing Tournament, Road Rally, Little Miss and Mr. Vergas and a street dance for Looney Days Saturday and Sunday.

 

Friday

• Big Friday baseball and softball championships, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Broadway Park

• OtterFest: Demolition Derby, 7 p.m. south of the water tower; Street Dance following the derby at the Hoot N Holler

• Vergas Looney Days: Happy Hour with Tod Sisson, 5 p.m. at the beer garden by Hanson’s Plumbing; Little Miss and Mr. Vergas, 6:30 p.m. at the Vergas Event Center; Karaoke, 7 p.m. at the Main Stage

• PRCA Rodeo, 5 p.m. at the Red Horse Ranch Arena

• Prospect House Museum Benefit Dinner, 5:30 p.m. at the Lakes Area Community Center in Battle Lake

• Stock Car Races, 7 to 10 p.m. at I-94 Speedway

• Music by Zakk Schrom, 7:30 p.m. at The Spot

 

Saturday

• OtterFest: Pancake and sausage breakfast, 7:30 to 11 a.m. at the Community Center; Car show, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. behind the water tower; Big Parade, 11 a.m.; Turtle Races by Jane, 12:30 p.m. by the park; Otter Idol finals, 7 p.m. at the Community Center; Live music, 9:30 p.m. at the Otter Supper Club

• Arts and Crafts Affair, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Railroad Park in Battle Lake

• Looney Days: Street Fair, 9:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.; 5K run/walk, 9 a.m.; Kids Fishing Tournament, 8 to 10 a.m.; The Beat Goes On multicultural percussionists, 1 p.m. at the Main Stage; Road Rally, 1 p.m. at the baseball diamond; Loon Calling Contest, 2 p.m. at the Main Stage; Music by David Lee, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Main Stage; Street Dance, 8 p.m. to midnight

• Music by Todd Stormz, 1 to 2 p.m. at The Spot

• Clitherall Family Fun Day featuring a bake sale, cake walk and free ice cream, 3 p.m. at the park

Sunday

• Outdoor church service, 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church; Classic Car and Motorcycle Parade, 1 p.m.; Looney Days Parade, 2 p.m.

• Hedemarken Church’s 140-year anniversary celebration and picnic, 10:30 a.m.

• Rescue Squad Turkey Feed, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lions Park picnic shelter
