Three more file for FF Council

Last minute filings for Fergus Falls city office heated up Monday, with three more people filing for city council spots.

Mike Diekman filed for the Ward Three council spot currently held by Pat Connelly. Also running for that spot are Wally Cole and Tim Rundquist (Connelly is running for mayor this year).

In Ward Four, the seat currently held by JoEllen Thacker, Anthony Hicks and Pam Ness joined the already-filed Tim King on the list of aspiring council members. Thacker, a one-term member of the council, has not filed for any seat yet.

No new school board candidates have filed.

The deadline for filing for city or school offices is today at 5 p.m. Would-be candidates can file at city hall for city positions and school headquarters for school positions.

The current list of candidates is as follows.

City offices:

Mayor: Pat Connelly, Daryl Synstelien, Jeff McSorley Jr., Ron Melius, John Strauch

Ward One: Eric Shelstad (incumbent), Ben Schierer

Ward Two: Jim Fish (incumbent), Robert Reisch, Mathew Larson, Nathan Gramley

Ward Three: Wally Cole, Tim Rundquist, Mike Diekman

Ward Four: Tim King, Anthony Hicks, Pam Ness

School board:

Four-year terms: Tarma Carlson, Jeff Hohrman and Matthew Lemke (all incumbents)

Two-year term: David Prazak (filling out term formerly held by Steve Stenerson)
