Grant County courthouse gets grant [UPDATED]
Published 10:30am Friday, August 17, 2012 Updated 12:35pm Friday, August 17, 2012Grant County recently received $10,000 from the National Trust for Historic Preservation from the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund to restore some of the courthouse’s interior decorative elements including murals, chairs, woodwork and the rotunda art glass skylight, according to the Grant County Herald.
The grant will be used to hire Miller Dunwiddie Architecture for design and construction of the project.
This interior restoration project is an extension of the recent $4.5 million building renovation that included a new heating and cooling system, window replacements, floor leveling and general structural strengthening and enhancements.
