Council narrowly approves marketer’s proposal [UPDATED]
Published 7:46pm Monday, August 20, 2012 Updated 11:04am Tuesday, August 21, 2012In a 5-3 split vote, the Fergus Falls City Council approved a six-month deal with global brokerage firm Colliers International to market the Regional Treatment Center to a variety of developers. Council members indicated that the deal might be the last such preservation effort, as city staff have given a March 2013 “drop-dead date” to start work on demolition of the buildings and still get the demolition costs into the state before the city’s grant expires.
Scott Rachels and Stan and Randy Synstelien voted against the proposal, citing concerns about running out of time on the grant.
