Fergus Falls City Council member Jim Fish can add another honor to his already impressive resume.

During Warroad’s all-school reunion this July, Warroad High School graduate Fish was given the school’s Outstanding Alumnus Award.

In addition to his city council service for more than 20 years, Fish has been heavily involved in other institutions in Fergus Falls, including the United Way, the United Church of Christ Memorial Foundation, the Lake Region Halfway House, the American Legion, the DWI Court Advisory Committee and many more. He has been particularly active in the Jaycees over the years, serving as state president, district director, North Area vice president, State Membership vice president and international senator.

After graduating from Warroad, Fish went to the North Dakota State School of Service and served in the Navy, where he received the National Service Medal Award. He had a career with several electric enterprises, including Fish Electric, Otter Tail Power and more.

The Outstanding Alumnus Award is given annually to a Warroad alumnus who has shown commitment to his community.
