A 13-year-old Dent boy biking near the intersection of Thunder Road and State Highway 78 was hit by a car around 11 p.m. Monday, according to the county sheriff’s office.

The teen was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The car, a gray Pontiac from the late 1990s or early 2000s, left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

It is not known at this time if the car stopped at anytime before leaving or if it simply continued driving.

The car may have a dent on the driver’s side front bumper. Anyone with possible information about the car is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 998-8555.
