Defensive specialist Sam Shaw got the Rockets off to a good start serving the first six points of the opening set.

It was all Rockets from then on as the Knights saw opening day rust.

“We were also pretty consistent in our passing game for the first match, “ Rockets coach Diane Ross said. “We need to put it a little more on target, but we didn’t have many errors in our passing either.”

Underwood’s Megan Biegler led the Rockets from the service line going 15 for 15 with six aces, while teammate Brianna Fitzgibbons recorded 13 kills in the win.

The Rockets will look to stay hot as they open up Little Eight Conference play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rothsay Tigers.

The Knights will go back to the drawing board as they host the Hancock Owls at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
