Tigers start great, end with opening loss

ULEN — The Rothsay Tigers were ready to pounce, but missed their target as they lost a four set match to Ulen-Hitterdal Tuesday (14-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21).

“Tonight was a rocky night for us as we were inconsistent in our play making,” Tigers’ coach Heather Reber said. “At times, we looked great, but our inconsistencies brought us down. Ulen-Hitterdal didn’t make errors and we made too many to overcome.”

Caitlin Simmer recorded 20 kills and six digs for the Tigers, while teammate Ashley Maack had 37 assists and four aces.

The Tigers will look to rebound as they take on LEC rival Underwood Rockets at home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
