BATTLE LAKE — The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs welcomed the United North Central Warriors into the pound and sent them packing with a 34-6 loss.

The Bulldogs got the scoring underway early as quarterback Andrew Smith snuck the ball 47 yards to pay dirt on OTC’s second possession of the game after teammate Cole Eitzen intercepted a UNC pass.

OTC would not get on the board again until the final 16 seconds in the half as Jake Trosdahl pounded a two yard run into the endzone and after a Tom Lachowitzer two point run, the Bulldogs went into half with a 15-0 lead.

The second half started with a UNC punt after the OTC defense made the Warriors go three and out.

OTC’s Nick Trosdahl scored his first varsity touchdown on a 20 yard pass from Smith.

Makto Rono recorded the second pick for the Bulldogs, setting up a seven play drive that culminated with a Smith one yard touchdown run.

The Warriors were finally able to get on the board as quarterback Brandon Junes connected with wide receiver Tanner Schwartz for a 15 yard catch and score.

In the final quarter of play, Nick Trosdahl put the icing on the cake as he broke a 43 yard run for his second score of the night.

“This was a nice first game win for the Bulldogs,” Bulldogs’ coach Don Seipkes said. “There is still a lot of work to get done and a number of areas that need to be improved on.”

The Bulldogs will be on the road next week as they travel to take on Wadena-Deer Creek at 7 p.m. Friday.
