The Underwood Rockets recovered from a week zero loss to claim a 39-14 road victory over rival Ashby Arrows Thursday evening.

Underwood’s Chase Collins found the endzone from five yards out to give the Rockets an early lead.

The Rockets would add two scores in the second quarter as Austin Montgomery and Collins continued the ground attack from three yards and four yards, respectively.

Underwood continued to put on the pressure in the second half as Collins took the opening kickoff 80 yards, weaving his way through defenders for his third score of the game.

Montgomery would put the nail in the coffin with a rush from a yard out in the fourth quarter.

The Arrows picked up two scores in the fourth as quarterback Blake Ohren found Dylan Barry for a five yard touchdown and Gage Olson for a one yard reception.

The Rockets move to 1-1 on the year and will host Verndale at 7 p.m. Sept. 7, while the Arrows will look to rebound as they host Brandon-Evansville Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
