For the Fergus Falls youth, summer is coming to a close as school rears its ugly head.

But for the 21st year in-a-row, the Fergus Falls Park and Recreation Department hopes to send summer baseball and softball players back to school with a bang.

The Park and Rec. will be holding the annual Big Friday championships at Broadway Park Friday.

The event will host five championship games that are the culmination of the Fergus’ Park and Rec. youth baseball and softball leagues.

Craig Olson will once again be broadcasting from the event for PEG access and call out starting lineups for each team.

The first game will start at 8:30 a.m. with the Orioles taking on the Indians for the T-ball title.

The second game pits Coach Eric Anderson’s Reds versus Coach Kasi Walvatne’s Rangers in the toss league championship at 9:45 a.m.

In the softball championship, a different group of Reds players will take on the A’s at 11 a.m.

Following the softball title game, the Rangers will take on the Indians in the Dwarf league championship game at 12:30 p.m.

To close out the day, the Pony league title game will see Braves versus Orioles at 2:30 p.m.

There will not be concessions available at the title games, but families are welcome to pack a picnic lunch and beverages for the day’s action.
