Forgotten warriors recognized at event [UPDATED]Published 9:20am Tuesday, September 4, 2012 Updated 11:22am Tuesday, September 4, 2012
The “forgotten warriors” are those who served in the military from the time the Korean War ended until the Vietnam War started, will be honored with a short program, certificate presentation, and lunch at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9 at Old Number One Southside in Morris.
All veterans and spouses are invited to attend, but a special invitation is being extended to these Cold War Veterans.
Since they served during peacetime, they received little recognition, though they were in harm’s way and suffered casualties due to hostile actions.
