Council approves scrap metal dealer

After much discussion, the city council voted in favor of making T-N-L Crushing a licensed scrap metal dealership, but several regulations were put in place.

T-N-L Crushing is located at 715 E. Hampton Ave. near Burger King East. Concern about noise and aesthetics were raised, but the council approved the dealership license under the conditions that the business does not crush anything on site and scraps may only be stored in trucks and in containers.

The business had been licensed by Minnesota, but they needed the approval of the Fergus Falls City Council to continue operating they way they were, said building inspector Daryl Johnson.

“They run a really clean operation,” he said.

All council members except for Scott Rachels voted in favor.
