Gary Donovan Jorgens, 65, of Fergus Falls

Gary Jorgens, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at his residence.

He was born July 13, 1947, in Fergus Falls, the son of Donovan W. and Irene H. (Trandem) Jorgens. He grew up in Fergus Falls, attending Fergus Falls High School. He graduated from the Nurse Aide Orderly Program at the Fergus Falls Community College in 1976.

Gary served in the U.S. Army for four years, where he was stationed in Germany.

He was a member of the Fergus Falls VFW and American Legion.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing at Ten Mile Lake, and singing and playing guitar with friends and family.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Stephanie Marie Jorgens; his parents, Donovan and Irene Jorgens; and his grandparents, Bessie and George Jorgens, and Alma and Albert Trandam.

Survivors include his children, Michele Fredrick, Patricia Fedor and Kevin Jorgens; his grandchildren, Devin Fredrick, and Cody Jorgens; his sister, Dee Ann (Vic) Schulz; his brother, Dennis (Susan) Jorgens; his ex-wife, Susan Marie Jorgens; and special friend Koleen Kenyon.

A memorial gathering is planned at 2 p.m. Friday, at the VFW, Fergus Falls. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Friday, Sept. 14, with military honors provided by Ft. Snelling Memorial Honor Guard.

Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
