M State volleyball competes at RCC

ROCHESTER — The M State Spartan volleyball team finished the weekend with a 1-2 record after competing at the Rochester CC Invitational Saturday.

The Spartans opened play with a 2-0 (25-13, 25-15) win over Hibbing.

M State could not keep their winning streak alive as they dropped a two set match (25-18, 25-17) to Ellsworth, Iowa.

In their final match of the tournament, M State was edged out by Viterbo 2-1 (20-25, 27-25, 25-13).

Christine Moenkedick led the Spartan offense with 18 kills in the tournament, while teammate Shae Brown had 22 set assists.

M State will get back to regular match play as they host Trinity Bible College on Wednesday at 6:30pm.
