ADA – The Underwood Rocket volleyball team walked away for the Ada-Borup tournament with a fourth place finish Saturday.

The Rockets would go 2-1 in pool play as they defeated Bagley 2-0 (25-11, 25-5) and Kittson County Central 2-0 (25-16, 25-15), but lost to Win-E-Mac 2-0 (25-18, 25-18).

In the gold division playoffs, the Rockets got a rematch against Win-E-Mac. The result was much of the same as Underwood fell 25-18 and 25-21.

The Rockets would settle for a fourth place finish as they dropped a three set match to Roseau (25-21, 19-25, 15-11) in the third place game.

“I felt it was a successful tournament for us,” Rockets coach Diane Ross said. “The team had to work extremely hard for their points, and we learned what areas we need to improve on.”

Carly Masloski led the offensive attack for Underwood with 42 kills, while teammate Kaitlyn Holen contributed 35 in the tournament.

The Rockets will be back to regular season action Tuesday as they host the Henning Hornets at 7:30 p.m.
