Wilkin County authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cutting of a man’s throat in Kent on Friday morning.

The man survived. Shortly before 4 a.m., deputies responded to 221 Main Street in the town after a report of a man whose throat had been cut. He was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge and underwent surgery. He was released after surgery was completed.

A Scott Vaughn and Patrick Bailey were arrested over the weekend, but the Wilkin sheriff’s office said the arrests were on unrelated charges.

The throat cutting is still under investigation. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the sheriff’s office.
