A Monday burglary has a rural New York Mills resident hoping for change after a significant amount of money in coins was stolen from a home at 57385 Topelius Dr.

There was no forced entry to the home, but drawers were opened and a large amount of coins were taken, along with several one dollar bills. The sheriff’s office did not release the amount of money taken but said it was less than $500.

The burglary appears to have happened between 11 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Monday. The case is under investigation.
