FF girls can’t find spark, fall to Spuds

The Fergus Falls Otter girls soccer team kept looking for their offensive firepower, but it was nowhere to be found as the Spuds took a 3-0 road victory.

The Fergus Falls offense was able to get several shots on goal in the first half but none of the shots found the back of the net.

Moorhead was able to take the advantage at teh six minute mark and followed again with a second goal at 22 minute.

The second half saw the Otter defense play outstanding, but the Spuds would come knocking one more time as they found the back of the Fergus net with six minutes remaining.

“Since this was a non-conference, non-section game, we moved a lot of people around to different positions to try and get our offense rolling,” Otter coach Karoline Gustafson said. “I think we found some good combinations, we can work with for the rest of the year.”

Fergus goalkeeper Rachel Heidorn had 10 saves in the match.

The Otters will look to right the ship as they welcome in the Willmar Cardinals Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kennedy Secondary football field.
