Spratn athletes named POTW

Two Spartan football players have received Player of the Week awards for their performance in the Spartans 27-26 victory over Vermillion Community College this past Saturday.

Jacob Schauer, a freshman from Eagle Valley High School, has been named the MCAC Southern Division Offensive Player of the Week. Schauer ran the ball 35 times and gained 189 yards, including his first collegiate touchdown, a 28 yard run.

With seven tackles and an interception that was returned for a game winning touchdown, Eric Riley, was honored as the MCAC Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week. Riley is a sophomore from Morris High School.

The Spartans are 1-2 and will host Ridgewater Community College at 1:30 this Saturday, Sept. 15.
