BRANDON — The Chargers were able to battle back Friday evening to take a 30-28 win over the visiting Hancock Owls.

Hancock jumped out to an early 14-0 lead after the first quarter. The Chargers responded as James Huisman six yard run cut the lead in half in the second quarter.

The Owls would score two more touchdowns before Brandon would respond again as Billie Juul found Zach Carlson for a 15 yard touchdown to end the half.

The Chargers were fired up in the second half as they would regain the lead and record the win as Juul rushed for a one yard score and followed that with a 21 yard pass to Craig Campbell in the waning seconds of the game.

“Wow, what a game. Our boys really showed their character today,” Charger coach Tim Pattrin said. “Even though they jumped out to a quick lead our guys kept battling and kept their heads in the game.”

The Chargers will look to continue their momentum as they travel to take on Ortonville Friday at 7 p.m.
