Recognizing National Adult Day Services Week, PioneerCare will host an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, for people wanting to learn more about the benefits of adult day services for older adults and their families.

“Adult day programming can provide social and health services to adults who need care in a safe place outside their home during the day,” says Carrie Miller, adult day services director. “Such services also provide time for caregivers and family members to take care of other responsibilities.”

PioneerCare’s Adult Day Services provide wellness and social programming, meals and snacks, nursing care and personal assistance like spa bathing, foot care, hair and nail care.

Operating hours are normally 9 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional hours are available by appointment.

Some adult day services clients are private pay, meaning they pay for services themselves. PioneerCare can help clients determine eligibility for waivered services like medical assistance and other resources like long term care insurance to help pay for services.

The Adult Day Services Center is located in the original PioneerCare building at 1006 Sheridan Street South in Fergus Falls.
