City OKs airport water bidPublished 11:49am Wednesday, September 19, 2012
The city council approved on Monday a bid to complete work on a water main extension from Two River Roads to the Otter Tail County transfer station on Airport Drive. The work is expected to be completed this fall.
The winning bid was for approximately $178,000 from R.L. Larson Excavating out of St. Cloud. City Engineer Dan Edwards said the bid was well under the construction budget, allowing the project to cut about $75,000 of its cost.
Overall, the project is budgeted at $400,000. Since the project benefits both the county and the city (which hopes eventually extend the main to the airport), the governments are splitting the cost.
