NYM man jailed for assault [UPDATED]

A New York Mills man was recently sentenced in Otter Tail County court to at least one year and five months in prison for assaulting a woman earlier this year.

Robert Wayne King, 41, was convicted for felony domestic assault. He has already served around six months in jail, and he must pay about $400 in fines and fees.

Court records state that on March 21, a woman and King were at their residence when King began slapping and hitting her her on the head while she talked on the phone. When she tried to swat him away, she punched her on the side of her head, almost knocking her unconscious.
