Courthouse work on schedule
Published 11:00am Thursday, September 20, 2012The Otter Tail County Courthouse construction project is on schedule but far from complete.
The three-phase project is still in the early stages of phase one, and much of what has been done so far is demolition.
Everything is on schedule, but there isn’t much extra time to work with, said county owners representative for construction Marland Hoff.
Demolition of the inside of the building is about 85 percent complete, and construction of framing for upstairs offices is underway. The exterior portion of the project is about 60 percent done, Hoff said.
Much of the focus is on getting the outside construction finished because weather becomes more of a factor as the winter months approach, said physical plant manager Terry Hoff.
Phase one is about 15 percent complete, and it is still expected to be finished by March 1
The construction project on the East Otter Tail County Courthouse in New York Mills is about 98 percent complete. Workers are waiting for materials to complete the front entrance.
