A Menahga man received minor injuries Wednesday morning in a car crash that knocked down a power pole north of Bluffton.

Richard Haataja, 18, reportedly fell asleep while driving his Honda Accord south on County Highway 75 around 7:50 a.m., the sheriff’s office reported. He drove off the east side of the road, hit an approach and sheared off a power pole with his car.

Haataja was not badly hurt, complaining primarily of back pain. Lake Region Electric Co-op arrived on scene later to replace the power pole.
