Expo offers something for all women [UPDATED]

Published 8:52am Thursday, September 20, 2012 Updated 11:53am Thursday, September 20, 2012

This weekend’s first ever In Good Company Women’s Expo promises to be an informational and fun event for ladies of all ages.

With speakers and demonstrations in cooking, fitness and women’s health issues, as well as health screenings and vendors displaying their products, what’s not to like? A day of shopping and information on topics relevant to women seems a great idea to us.

Perhaps best of all, the speakers lined up for the day, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., are people we know and can trust to provide up-to-date and interesting information.

For instance, Scott Meldahl from PioneerCare, Vicki Lee from Ten Mile Lake Steakhouse, Fred Sasseville from Forest Lake Lodge, and Sandy Albertson, all have local ties and will offer healthy, tasty eating ideas.

On the health front, Dr. Orandi will talk about the bane of many women — vericose veins; Dr. Barnes will address women’s cancer issues and building a healthy lifestyle foundation for children; and Sheryl Olson will talke gynecologic health. Various health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, bone density and more, are also planned.

Local women’s fitness gurus Wendy Billie and Natalie Knutson will offer exercise options and information.

And finally, more than 60 vendors will share their products with attendees.

So, really, what is not to like about the expo?

Plan to learn while having fun.
