PELICAN RAPIDS — The Viking girls volleyball team could not stop the Hawley Nuggets Thursday night as suffered their first loss (25-23, 25-20, 26-24).

“Overall, the girls knew this was going to be a higher caliber of play that we have seen for a while,” Pelican Rapids coach Heidi Isaman said. “There were some great defensive and offensive plays from both teams, but our breakdown in communication was too much to overcome.”

Madison Korf recorded 20 set assists for the Vikings, while teammate Lincoln Haiby had 10 kills in the match.

The Vikings will look to get back to their winning ways as they host Breckenridge Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
