Spartans swept at Harper College Invite

CHICAGO, Ill. — The M State Volleyball team participated in the Harper College Invitational Friday and Saturday going 0-4.

In Friday’s matches, M State lost to Black Hawk 3-1 (25-15, 25-18, 12-25, 26-24) and to South Suburban 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16).

On Saturday, the Spartans fell to Logan College 3-1 (23-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-13) and to host Harper College 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-15).

Christina Moenkedick led the Spartans with 28 kills in the tournament, while teammate Gretchen Freed had 60 digs over the weekend.

The Spartans will look to get back on the winning track as they travel to Willmar Wednesday to take on the Ridgewater Warriors at 6:30 p.m.
