Tigers swept by hosting Rockets [UPDATED]

UNDERWOOD — The Underwood Rockets picked up another Little Eight Conference win as they defeated the Rothsay Tigers (25-13, 25-8, 25-10).

Brianna Fitzgibbons led the Rockets from the service line going 22 for 23 with four aces, while teammates Kaitlyn Holen (14-15, three aces) and Karin Mortenson (10-10, three aces) also gave Rothsay fits on service return.

“We hit .477 as a team,and only made one receiving error,” Rockets coach Diane Ross said. “That makes me happy.”

“Underwood was a tough battle for us tonight,” added Tiger coach Heather Reber. “We didn’t serve receive like we needed to.”

The Rockets remain unbeaten in the LEC and will travel to take on Brandon-Evansville Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., while the Tigers will look to get back on the winning track as they travel to Ashby Thursday for another 7:30 p.m. LEC battle.
