Spartans fall to No. 1 Warriors in four sets

WILLMAR — The M State Spartan volleyball team took on No.1 ranked in the nation, Ridgewater Community College, falling Wednesday evening (16-25, 25-18, 13-25, 19-25).

The Warriors were able to overcome a five point deficit in the first set as they scored 10 straight points and picked up the win.

The Spartans were able to claim the second set, knotting the game up at one a piece.

Ridgewater would gain control of the match in the third set and took home the victory.

Cheyanne O’Neal led the Spartans with seven kills and four blocks in the loss.

The Spartans will welcome in Riverland CC Saturday at 1 p.m. for Parent’s Day as a part of M State homecoming week.
