PR blanks Cards 48-0 in homecoming win

PELICAN RAPIDS — The Pelican Rapids Vikings dominated their way to a 48-0 Homecoming victory over the Staples Motley Cardinals. Eddie Ramos put the Vikings on the board with a 37 yd interception return for a touchdown.

“It’s always hard to account for defensive touchdowns and to open up the game that way put us in a great spot,” said Vikings Coach Dave Haugen. Tanner Grahn added two one yard touchdown runs to give the Vikings a 20-0 lead going into the half.

Patrick Coleman punched in two more scores for the Vikings and from that point on never looked back. Hobert Diaz nailed six of seven extra point kicks to add to the Vikings win.

Vikings defense held tight throughout the game leaving the Cardinals scoreless. “Our defense played real well and really limited the Staples-Motely offense,” said Vikings Coach Dave Haugen.

The Vikings will travel to East Grand Forks as they take on the Greenwave next Friday night at 7p.m.
