Rockets stomp Bears in homecoming matchup
Published 8:18am Saturday, September 29, 2012UNDERWOOD — The Rockets got off to a fast start and never looked back as they defeated the Bertha Hewitt Bears by a score of 56-0.
Underwood senior Chase Collins took the opening kickoff 79 yards down to the four yardline to open the game with a bang for the fans on homecoming.
One play later Collins found paydirt with a four yard score. The Bears had a tough time getting anything going all night long against the stone wall defense of the Rockets, Underwood hopped out to a 43-0 lead by halftime and began to play smart football in the second half securing the victory.
Collins finished the game with 48 yards and two scores, while senior quarterback Noah Rocholl also rushed for three touchdowns of his own. This was a great win and team effort, special teams always contribute although they usually go unnoticed.
The Rockets take on the Comets of Hillcrest Valley Lutheran in a big rivalry game next Friday in Fergus Falls at 7pm.
