Tower Road Bridge welcome

Published 10:11am Monday, September 10, 2012 Updated 12:14pm Monday, September 10, 2012

As anyone who dealt with the traffic along Lincoln, Union and Vernon avenues in Fergus Falls during the busy summer season can attest, the new Tower Road bridge will be more than welcome.

The project, which is scheduled to be completed in October, will no question provide relief not only to residents who live south of the Otter Tail River, but to everyone who drives to downtown Fergus Falls and the commercial district along Lincoln Avenue.

In addition, the bridge likely will spur additional economic development, including new housing, increased business for existing retailers, and potentially new businesses to serve those residents taking new routes to work.

Thanks to those who secured funding for, planned and constructed the bridge, one that will clearly move Fergus Falls into the future.

We can’t wait until October when it is done.
