Arrows hold on to homecoming win

ASHBY — The Ashby Arrows celebrated a 38-32 homecoming victory over a tough Ortonville Trojans team Friday.depends

The Arrows were able to hold on to a double digit halftime lead to secure the win over the rallying Trojans.

“Tonight was one heck of a football game that came down to the last few plays, we just happened to make a play or two more than Ortonville tonight to secure the victory,” Arrow coach Andy Campbell said.

The offense was led by quarterback Blake Ohren with 34 rushes for 221 yards and three touchdowns and 11 for 17 with 133 yards through the air and a score.

Reed Hanson led the Ashby defenders with 12 tackles and an interception in the game.

The Arrows will have little time to prepare as they welcome in Verndale Tuesday for a 7 p.m. showdown.
