HLA Comet boys blank Green Wave 3-0

EAST GRAND FORKS — The Comets’ Vegard Hetlebakke stoned the East Grand Forks Green Wave Saturday as Hillcrest took home a 3-0 win.

Romario Moreno got the Comets on the board late in the first half off an Eduardo Urbano pass to put Hillcrest up 1-0 at the break.

The second half began the way the first ended as Moreno booted in a free kick into the back of the Green Wave net. Urbano was able to an insurance goal late in the second half to give the Comets their fourth straight victory.

Hetlebakke turned away six shots on goal in the contest, while Edgar Diaz, Chris Franco, and Quincy Undseth were able to contain the East Grand Forks offense throughout the match.

The Comets will be back in action Monday as they host No. 10 (Class A) St. Cloud Cathedral at 3:30 p.m.
