A 50-year-old Perham man was injured Friday afternoon when his motorcycle hit a Toyota Highlander at the intersection of 457th Avenue and County Highway 54.

The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. Jeffrey Haverland was riding his motorcycle on the east/west road when the northbound SUV driven by James Schulte, 65, of Ottertail, pulled out onto the road from 457th, the county sheriff’s office reported. Haverland put down his bike to avoid an upright crash, but he still hit the SUV.

Haverland had abrasions and bruising and was taken to Perham Health for treatment. Schulte was uninjured, and law enforcement said he did not see the motorcycle.
