Names released in critical crash [UPDATED]

The Minnesota State Patrol inaccurately reported on the condition of one of the people involved in the accident. Read an updated report here.

Authorities have released the names of the three people involved in an accident Monday north of Pelican Rapids that left an 83-year-old man critically injured.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Robert Peterson, of Pelican Rapids, was critically hurt in the crash between an SUV and a pickup truck. Peterson had been driving the SUV north on County Highway 9 when he collided with the truck, driven by Matthew Milbeck, 29, of Pelican Rapids.

Peterson’s wife Luverne, 82, died from her injuries, and Milbeck received minor injuries.
