$24M allows EL hospital to build for future [UPDATED]

The award of more than $24 million from USDA Rural Development to help Prairie Ridge Hospital and Health Services build a new facility is certainly welcome news. We join the Elbow Lake and Morris communities in their excitement for the next level of health care facilities and services.

Though the current Prairie Ridge facilities have served the community well for about 50 years, the cutting-edge medical field is an almost completely different beast than it was in the 1960s. Prairie Ridge has certainly kept up with the times, but the new building will allow them to build for the future, rather than adjust for it.

As Prairie Ridge slowly joins the fold of Lake Region Healthcare, the hospital and clinic will also be privy to additional resources and an expanded health care network. Healthcare is moving to the next level in Elbow Lake, and the region as a whole will benefit.
