Frances E. (Palmquist) Hanson, 91, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born July 2, 1921, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Andrew and Blanche “Dolly” (Davidson) Palmquist. She attended rural school at District 30 and Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1939.

She worked as a secretary in the office at Co-op Oil and the Fergus Falls Elks Club.

On Nov. 25, 1948, she married Arnold E. Hanson of Lakefield, in Fergus Falls. They lived on a farm west of Fergus Falls near Dayton Hollow Dam.

In 1969, they moved to their place on Wall Lake. In recent years she resided at Broen Home.

Franny was a member of Buse 4-H, the Orwell Homemakers, and Augustana Lutheran Church.

She baked and decorated many wedding cakes for friends and family. She was an avid bowler, and played in numerous tournaments throughout the country.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Arnold, who died in 1995; and aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gladys Hanson of Fergus Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the Broen Home

Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Light and Life Auditorium at Broen Home, Fergus Falls.

Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls
