Published 8:00am Wednesday, October 3, 2012 Updated 12:08pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012Gretchen A. Folsom, 97, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, Septe. 28, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.
Gretchen was born on April 25, 1915, in Wahkon, the daughter of Frank and Ella (Heitman) Morneau. She grew up and attended school in Ogilvie, graduating from Ogilvie High School.
On Oct. 25, 1937, she married Robert Earl Folsom in Foreston. She was a housewife and mother to her four children. She also worked as a nurse’s aide.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, FireFlies, friend of Crosier. She enjoyed baking, clogging and dancing.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Robert Sr.
Survivors include her children, Father Paul Folsom of Battle Lake, Cathy (Dave) Ross of Brainerd, Robert (Rannae) Folsom Jr. of New Brighton, and Margie (Pat) Stoy of Detroit Lakes; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Tony, Mark, Rob, Amy, Katie, Heather, Dan, and Sean; and ten great-grandchildren, Jasmyne, Connor, Riley, Ashton, Sara, Robbie, Ryan, Ella, Henry, and Adyson; and extended family and friends.

Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m., with prayers at 5 p.m., at the church, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Monday, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Battle Lake
