Battlers edge Tigers in five sets

ROTHSAY — In a back-in-forth Little Eight Conference battle, the Battle Lake Battlers captured a five set victory (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 12-25, 17-15) over the hosting Tigers Thursday.

“We played a good match tonight,” Tiger coach Heather Reber said. “I worked some different players into the game due to injuries and we handled it well. Game four was the best we have looked this season and am excited to continue working on makiing that more consistent.”

Tigers’ Caitlyn Simmer was all over the court recording 14 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and an ace in the game. Teammate Alexis Craig had an equally good night as she posted 14 kills, 11 digs, and two aces.

The Tigers will be back in action Tuesday as they host Brandon Evansville at 7:30 p.m., while the Battlers will take on the Arrows at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
