ALEXANDRIA — The Fergus Falls volleyball team brought their high intensity show on the road Thursday evening as they picked up a tough four set Central Lakes Conference victory over the Alexandria Cardinals (26-24, 24-26, 25-9, 25-23).

“We knew that they were going to come at us,” Otters coach Renee Erickson said. “All four games came down to who was passing the best. Our defense was sharp and was able to put us on top.”

Brianna Rasmusson, Devonie Smith and Laura Gaustad each recorded three aces for the Otters from the service line, while Rasmusson (13), Anna Monke (10) and Morgan Hensch (10) each lowered the boom on the Cardinals tally double digit kills.

The win may have locked up the CLC championship for the Otters as they go into their home stretch.

The Otters will close out their home season Tuesday evening as they host another CLC rival in Sauk Rapids-Rice at 7 p.m.
