What’s happening Sept. 5-7

Perham Harvest Fest, homecoming games and too many church gatherings to count on one hand can only mean one thing; It must be October.

The first weekend of the new month will feature both the Otter and Hillcrest Comet homecoming games tonight. The Otters will take on Grand Rapids, and the Comets will play Underwood.

Svedrup Lutheran, Central Lutheran, Nidaros, First United, Grace Lutheran and Rock Prairie churches will all host fall gatherings this weekend.

Area wood artists will put on demonstrations at the Kaddatz Gallery this weekend. Wood carver Dick Werner and woodturners Phil Holtan and Paul Hedman will put on the demonstrations.

The following is a list of some of the events to look forward to this weekend.

 

Friday

• Wood demonstration, 2 p.m. at the Kaddatz Gallery

• Otter homecoming football game, 7 p.m. at Kennedy Secondary Otter Stadium

• Hillcrest homecoming football game, 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy

 

Saturday

• Leaf Days, all day at Maplewood State Park

• Perham Harvest Fest, throughout the day in Perham

• Sverdrup Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Svedrup Lutheran Church in Underwood

• Lake Region Writers Network Conference, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at M State – Fergus Falls

• Let’s Go Fishing Walk, 10 a.m. to noon at DeLagoon Park

• Ole and Lena’s Fest five-year celebration, noon to 9 p.m. at Ole and Lena’s in Rothsay

• Wood demonstration, 2 p.m. at the Kaddatz Gallery

• Swedish meatball supper, 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church

• Fall supper, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Nidaros Church in Clitherall

• Pig roast, 5 to 7 p.m. at First United Church of Christ

 

Sunday

• Leaf Days, all day at Maplewood State Park

• Grace Lutheran Church Brunch, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ashby American Legion

• Rock Prairie Church Fall Hotdish Dinner, noon to 1 p.m. at Rock Prairie Church in Elbow Lake
