Jarandson named GM of Erickson Air-Crane [UPDATED]

Erickson Air-Crane has named longtime employee Kerry Jarandson general manager of its Central Point Operations.

Jarandson has been a senior director of plant operations and assumes the top role at the Willow Springs Road plant. The move follows the resignation last week of David Ford, vice president of maintenance, repair and overhaul for the past two years.

Jarandson has been with the company for two years. He is a 1986 graduate of Fergus Falls High School. He is the son of Ken and Kathy Jarandson of Fergus Falls.

“He’s the kind of guy that folks all around respects and trust,” Rieder said. “He’s been in waiting, so it’s not a surprise to anyone.”


Apply for help with heating bills

Do you need help with your heat or electric bills? Applications are now available for the Energy Assistance Program. Help will be available for all heating types as funding becomes available.

Assistance is based on household Income for the past three months, previous year’s heat costs and number of people In the household. Grants will range from $100 to $1200.

Otter Tail and Wadena County residents must now apply through the

Mahube-Otwa Community Action Partnership for help.

West Otter Tall County residents should contact the Mahube- Otwa office in Fergus Falls at 218-739-3011. East Otter Tail County and Wadena County residents should contact the Mahube’Otwa office In Wadena at 218-632-3600.

FF Manufacturers breakfast

is Oct. 24

The Fergus Falls manufacturer’s appreciation breakfast is scheduled from 7 to 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the community room at the YMCA. Serving begins promptly at 7 a.m.

The event is sponsored in part by the Fegus Falls Economic Improvement Commission, Positively Minnesota and the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.

Medical Director to share on the latest in cancer research

Dr. Paul Etzell, Medical Director of Lake Region Healthcare’s Cancer Care and Research Center spoke on the topic of cancer research in September at the Cancer Center.

“This was a great opportunity for our patients and the broader community to learn more about important questions surrounding cancer research,” says Jason Bergstrand, Wellness Coordinator at the Cancer Center. “It was a real privilege to have someone like Dr. Etzell share his passion and expertise with the public in this way.”

The presentation was part of the I Can Cope education class sponsored by the American Cancer Society, held monthly for patients, their families and general public.

The Cancer Center is located at 908 S. Cascade St. Fergus Falls.
