Pelican Rapids police arrested a man Saturday in connection with a suspected car chase with shots fired on Thursday night.

Fikret Saric, 28, was arrested after a search warrant was executed on his Pelican Rapids home. The details of the chase/shooting incident are still under investigation.

According to police, a person called Otter Tail County dispatch shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday to report that he was in a car being chased by another car. The chase had taken place in Pelican Rapids but was heading out of town. Dispatch told the person to turn back to Pelican Rapids, but police said the chasing car ended the pursuit around that time.

During a follow-up investigation, police learned that shots had been fired during the chase, but no one was injured. Police said the investigation eventually led them to suspect Saric.

More details are expected to be released in court documents police believe will be filed soon.
