Vikings sweep Park Rapids Area

PARK RAPIDS — The Vikings were able to move to 16-5 on the season as they defeated the hosting Panthers in three sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-18) Monday.

“We knew they were good servers and had a good young middle hitter that we had to try to defend,” Pelican Rapids coach Heidi Isaman. “The Vikings did not pass the ball very well and had some communication mishaps, but we did a good job defending their big hitter for the most part and served pretty aggressively ourselves to get them out of system.”

Madison Korf led Pelican Rapids with 13 set assists, while teammate Kendra Weinrich tallied six kills in the win.

The Vikings will continue their road journey as they take on New York Mills Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
