Fern (Peterson) Bjoralt, 87, of Fergus Falls
Published 9:32am Thursday, October 11, 2012 Updated 11:35am Thursday, October 11, 2012Fern Bjoralt, died peacefully in the arms of family on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Fern was born on May 7, 1925, in Fergus Falls, to Ella (Carlsrud) and Fred Peterson. She grew up in the Rothsay area and graduated from Rothsay High School.
On March 23, 1947, she married Gordon (Bud) Bjoralt in Rothsay, where they lived until1987, when they moved to Fergus Falls.
She was a former member of Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay, where she was baptized and confirmed, and was a current member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
Fern enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, shopping, and going out to eat and to coffee with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon (Bud) Bjoralt, her parents, sisters, Carlotta Marek, Sylvia Honrud, and Joyce Currier, and brother, Maynard Peterson.
Survivors include her three daughters, Cheryl (Gerry) Rafftery of Maplewood, MN, Nancy Peterson of Bemidji, and Becky (Jeff) Lemen of Fergus Falls; one son, Mark Bjoralt of St. Cloud, MN; five grandchildren, Shannon (David) Treichel, Megan Cole, Dustin (Laura) Hanneman, Brooke (Chris) Anderson and Tessa Asper; two step-grandchildren, Matt Lemen and Amy (Josh) Rothstein; four great-grandchildren, Trey Kelly, Olivia, Eli, and Delaney Treichel, and another great-grandson on the way; one step great-grandson, Jake Rothstein; two siblings, Ruth Honrud of Erhard and Johnnie (Arvilla) Peterson of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
