EL hospital to break ground on critical care facility [UPDATED]
Published 9:39am Friday, October 12, 2012 Updated 11:42am Friday, October 12, 2012Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake was selected to receive more than $24 million from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development. The funding will be used to purchase a clinic in Morris and construct a critical access hospital in Elbow Lake that will break ground today.
Built about 50 years ago, the Prairie Ridge hospital and clinic no longer meet the needs of the community. The 53,000 square-foot new facility will include an emergency department, imaging lab, clinic, support areas, 10 private rooms and operating room.
The city of Elbow Lake recently decided to sell a parcel to the hospital for $1, the Grant County Herald reported.
All are invited to the groundbreaking on the new facility today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
